Announcement, Desktop Streaming App now available

Christmas comes early here at Presto, and we’re delighted to announce the release of our Desktop Streaming Apps for Windows and Mac. This is the next major step in increasing the connectivity options we offer following the BluOS integration announced last month.

Like our other apps, the desktop streaming app is available for all customers, both streaming subscribers or those who want to stream their library of purchased CDs and Downloads. The design and layout are virtually identical to that of the web player, but in the settings menu you can choose which audio device to send the audio to, the audio quality to stream at (useful if you’re hot-spotting off your phone and don’t want to consume all your data) and a switch to enable ‘exclusive mode’. 

Connect a USB DAC - Exclusive mode allows you to bypass your computer’s onboard sound card and send bit-perfect audio directly to an external DAC connected to your computer. This is important as it will deliver the best possible Hi-Res audio quality, and also gives you another route to connect to an existing home hi-fi set-up. 

Download the desktop app now - you can download the apps now for Windows, Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) from the Apps page on our website.

Once you’ve downloaded the relevant App for Windows or Mac you should log in with your existing Presto Music email and password. Customers with a library of CD and download purchases from us will find these in the Collection > Purchased tab, as well as being able to enjoy short samples of everything else in our streaming catalogue.

Streaming customers will find the same Hi-Res full catalogue experience as with the other apps.
