Announcement, Try our new Download Manager

Over the last couple of months we’ve been building and testing a new download system.

Download ManagerThe existing download system has been in place for more than 10 years, and as regular download customers will know, it works by creating a zip file which you download in one go before being able to unzip it on your computer and use it. Whilst zip files work well a lot of the time they do also present a number of challenges, such as speed, requiring an uninterrupted connection; a 4GB size limit (which is increasingly a problem for longer Hi-Res products), and difficulty unzipping in certain situations.

Our new download solution has been in beta for a few months and feedback has been overwhelmingly encouraging. You can choose the format, the bit rate and sample rate to download at (up to the maximum quality which you purchased), you’ll also find the cover image is embedded within each track and overall you should find it both smoother and faster, especially for our customers living further away.

If you’re downloading on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer we would strongly recommend you use our free Download Manager application which manages the download and allows you to choose a specific folder to always collect your downloads into.

The very first time you use the new Download Manager you will need to go through these steps: 1. Download the Download Manager; 2. Install the Download Manager; and 3. Log in to the Download manager (using the same account details as you use on the website). Don’t worry though we’ll lead you through this whole process, and you’ll only need to do this once..

After that, you will just need to kick off each new download from the new My Downloads pages on the website.

You can find the new download system within the My Account section of the website

Try the new Download system now

Please note we will be retiring the existing ‘zip’ files system at the end of March 2024, so why not try out the new system on a new purchase or with one of your previous purchases now? Do let us know how you find the system. You’ll see a tell us what you think button at the top of the new downloads page.
