Bebop lives! Thanks to the incredible talent of German pianist, composer and arranger Claus Raible (former student of Barry Harris) and the members of his international tentet that includes the UK's Steve Fishwick on trumpet and Americans Alvester Garnet on drums (Abbey Lincoln, Wynton Marsalis) and Brad Leali on alto saxophone (Harry Connick Jr, Count Basie Orchestra). With the power of a big band, the tentet delivers inspirational performances of jazz standards and original compositions whose collective theme is 'the ladies'. From Bud Powell's "Cleopatra's Dream" to Lee Morgan's "Raggedy Ann" and the Adler/Ross show standard, "Whatever Lola Wants", the varying hues of the fairer sex are truly represented! Highlights include "Sister Susie", a composition that tips its hat to Horace Silver's Sister Sadie, and "Blues for Lizzie", featuring soulful and sanctified solos from both Raible and Leali.
