The Well Easy Trumpet Book is a collection of 8 pieces for trumpet aimed primarily at younger students, in the early stages of their playing experience, who are looking for some light-hearted solo repertoire which does not place too much emphasis on the upper range of the instrument. The difficulty of the solo part ranges from approximately Grades 1 to 3, and tries to cover a wide range of styles while remaining within the range and key signatures associated with these early grades. Occasional use of 'effects' is made which, although included for entertainment, might become legitimate techniques as the student progresses.
The piano accompaniments have been designed with a second study pianist in mind and each of the pieces features an optional duet part which could be played by a student of grade 5 standard, or by the teacher, and allows for performance without the piano as a mixed-ability duet.
