This Suite of six movements, arranged by John Barbirolli "from the Dramatick Musick of Henry Purcell" was first published by Oxford University Press in 1937 and is here presented in a newly typeset edition. Some of the slightly confusing repeat instructions in the original have been written out in full for clarity.
The Suite can be be played by strings alone, or strings and 2 horns. If there is no Cor Anglais, the solo in the fifth movement should be played by a Viola (it is shown in the viola part). The Horns play only in the first and sixth movements, the Cor Anglais only in the fifth and the Flutes only in the second movement
